"You may be able to take the preacher away from the pulpit. But you can never take his passion away to preach! We’ll read about a powerful sermon presented by the Apostle Paul to a packed courtroom." How interesting that on the first day of our sabbatical that these were the opening words of Alistair Begg's message on RefNet today. There is no significance deeper than the preacher being out of the pulpit for awhile but the words jumped out at me. Alistair Begg is one of the preachers we hope to hear on one of our seven Sundays off.
Today was a Project Day. Yes. I am naming the days. The plan is to have an intentional schedule to our weeks so that we are refreshed as well as challenged to do new things. One of these new things for me is to start this blog. Since Mondays will be travel days (partially) as we return home from weekends away today was a day for projects. A trip to Menards for Death To Bugs and Death To Weeds. A trip to Gary Camera and Best Buy to end my In Between Cameras period. If I am going to blog I need a camera! A trip to Michael's for something I need for the school library. And then home to work on a project completely unrelated to any of the aforementioned errands.
Tomorrow will be a day at work at CCHS for me. With Rev. now working/sabbaticalling in the house I have to keep up some regular destinations away from here. Wednesday I plan to take over the church. Oh yes. Here I come. I have wanted to catalog Rev.'s books but have never had the right amounts of time and space to make this possible. I see seven weeks of great possibility and plan to be there every Wednesday. Stop in and see me if you are in town. Make sure I haven't slipped outside to play with my yard or other projects!
Did you really think this was going to be about Rev. Wetselaar? Ok, an update: he is reading.
